SPFA PCP Certified Spray Foam Installer
Epic Foam is a SPFA PCP Certified spray foam insulation contractor serving Southwest Montana. The Spray Polyurethane Foam Alliance (SPFA) created the Professional Certification Program (PCP) to establish professional standards for spray foam installers and improve quality across the industry.
Spray foam insulation is manufactured directly on the jobsite through a chemical reaction between two components. Because the installer is effectively manufacturing insulation inside the building, training and certification play a critical role in ensuring the material performs as intended.
Epic Foam owner Ryan VanderWerff is a SPFA PCP Certified Installer and volunteer participant in the PCP field exam program, helping support the certification process that evaluates installers across the industry.
Why SPFA Certification Matters
The SPFA Professional Certification Program is designed to ensure spray foam installers understand the science, safety requirements, and installation practices necessary for high-quality foam installation.
The certification process includes:
• written knowledge testing
• hands-on field evaluations
• verification of installation practices
• continuing education in spray foam technology
Hiring a SPFA certified installer helps ensure the contractor understands the environmental conditions, equipment operation, and chemical processes required for proper spray foam installation.
Industry Involvement and Professional Development
Epic Foam maintains active involvement in the spray foam industry through organizations dedicated to improving knowledge and professionalism within the trade.
Ryan VanderWerff participates in the SPFA PCP program as a volunteer field exam assistant and is also actively involved with Spray Foam Worldwide, an international community focused on advancing spray foam knowledge, sharing best practices, and helping installers improve their skills.
These organizations work to elevate the spray foam industry, promote safe installation practices, and help contractors build better businesses through education and collaboration.
By staying engaged with these professional communities, Epic Foam continues learning from some of the most experienced installers in the industry while applying those lessons to projects throughout Montana.
Professional Installation Matters
At Epic Foam we treat spray foam installation as a controlled environmental process. Proper installation requires careful control of substrate temperature, humidity, and chemical conditions to ensure the foam expands and cures correctly.
Our goal is to install spray foam insulation systems that perform reliably in Montana’s demanding climate conditions, including cold winters, large temperature swings, and rural building environments.
Spray Foam Applications
Epic Foam installs closed cell spray foam insulation in a wide range of building types including:
Custom homes
Luxury homes
Off-grid homes and cabins
Ranch homes
Garages and heated workshops
Metal buildings
Pole barns
Agricultural buildings
Closed cell spray foam insulation helps reduce air leakage, improve energy efficiency, and increase building durability across Southwest Montana.
